Privacy policy
What we collect when you ask for a quote, why, who we share it with, and your choices. Effective October 12, 2026.
Who we are
Steel and Acre LLC, a California limited liability company doing business as Steel & Acre ("we", "us"), is an independent dealer for Metal America LLC. This policy covers steelandacre.com and the quote requests, calls, texts and emails that come through it.
What we collect
- What you give us on a quote form or the 3D designer: name, phone number, email, ZIP code, building type, size, use, timeline, site and permit details, notes, and any 3D design you send.
- What you tell us by phone, text or email.
- Basic visit data: which page and button led to your request, the page you first landed on, and ad campaign tags in the link you clicked (for example utm or click-ID parameters). Your browser and device may also send standard information such as IP address and browser type.
Why we use it
- To prepare your quote, 3D design and site checklist, and to help you order.
- To contact you about your quote by phone, text or email, as you agreed when you sent the form.
- To see which pages and ads bring in quote requests, so we can improve the site and our advertising.
- To keep records the law requires and to protect against fraud.
Who we share it with
- Metal America LLC, to price your building and prepare your quote, order and contract. Your contract is with Metal America, and its own privacy terms apply to what it holds.
- Service providers who help us run the business (for example web hosting, email, phone and text messaging), only to do that work for us.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information. We don't share your phone number or text consent with anyone for their own marketing.
Analytics and ad tools
We may use analytics and advertising tools from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google, such as a pixel or tag, to measure which ads lead to quote requests and to show our ads to people likely to be interested. These tools can use cookies and similar technology. Under California law, this kind of ad targeting can count as "sharing" personal information.
To opt out:
- Email hello@steelandacre.com with "Do not sell or share" and we'll stop sharing your information for ad targeting.
- Use a browser that sends Global Privacy Control (GPC); we treat it as an opt-out request.
- Adjust your ad settings in your Meta and Google accounts, or block cookies in your browser.
Text messages
If you give us your phone number, we may call or text you about your quote. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. Opting out of texts doesn't cancel a quote or order.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use and share about you.
- Delete personal information we hold about you, with some legal exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
- Not be treated differently for using these rights.
To make a request, email hello@steelandacre.com or call 630-392-9084. We'll confirm your request, may ask for details to verify who you are, and respond within the time the law allows (usually 45 days). An authorized agent can make a request for you with your written permission. We extend the same choices to customers outside California.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and messages for as long as we need them to quote, sell and support your building, and longer only where the law requires records (for example tax and contract records). Then we delete or de-identify them.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send payment card numbers or other sensitive data through the quote form.
Children
This site is for adults buying buildings. It isn't directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the effective date.
